In a culture where young people are spending more and more time watching TV and playing games consoles it’s great to see that there are still young people who want to get out and start getting fit and healthy by doing something that they enjoy.

Although there are a number of reports about how games consoles such as the Nintendo Wii can make you fit, I really don’t think that it could ever replace simply getting out there and joining a team. Whether it be basketball, volleyball or tennis. We really need more young people to get active and start winning medals when it comes to the likes of the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.

I’ve never been into competitive sports myself but I can understand how good they must be for those who want to learn how to develop a team spirit and learn to be assertive. You certainly need these qualities in the “real world”, especially if you are getting into business and need to get a compeitive edge. Being fit and healthy is so important for many aspects of your lives and one reason it’s so great is dealing with stress. If you are working in a business situation you will find that you get very stressed and finding ways to get rid of that stress is fantastic.
